A quality-focused HVAC and mechanical services contractor with a strong and growing portfolio of long-term public sector contracts across South and West Wales. Clients include local authorities, major universities, national FM contractors, and national heritage bodies. The business has built its reputation on technical excellence and the professionalism of its engineers — and that's exactly who they want to attract.
The Role
A permanent opportunity for an experienced Service and Maintenance Engineer to join a small, skilled team delivering planned and reactive HVAC maintenance across a varied portfolio of commercial and public sector sites throughout South Wales and the wider region. You'll be responsible for:
* Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across commercial HVAC systems — splits, VRVs, VRFs, chillers, ventilation
* Reactive breakdown attendance and fault diagnosis
* First-time fix where possible, with a methodical and thorough approach
* Digital completion of service sheets, F-Gas records, and commissioning documentation
* Maintaining a professional, client-facing manner across all site visits
Site types include schools, offices, leisure centres, local authority properties, university campuses, and heritage sites. Hours are flexible to site access requirements.
What We're Looking For
* Minimum 3 years' commercial HVAC service and maintenance experience
* Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability across air conditioning and ventilation systems
* F-Gas qualified (City & Guilds 2079 or equivalent)
* NVQ Level 2 or above in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (or equivalent)
* Comfortable using digital reporting platforms for job records and compliance documentation
* Full UK driving licence
* Self-motivated with excellent time management — you'll be running your own diary
* Chiller maintenance experience is an advantage but not essential
What's On Offer
* £40,000–£42,000 basic salary
* Door to door travel
* Overtime at 1.5x
* Structured career development pathway within a business that has a clear and documented progression framework
* Long-term, stable contracts providing consistent and varied workflow — no feast and famine
* Supportive, experienced management team with deep technical knowledge
