Role: Training Coordinator – Carpentry and Joinery
Location: Multi-Site – Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire Campuses
Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £30,915 and £41,085 per annum DOE and Qualifications plus a Market Supplement up to £10,000 per annum, 35 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, Teacher’s Pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, professional and personal development opportunities.
Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

About the Role
We are seeking a Training Coordinator in Carpentry and Joinery to join our Apprenticeships department. As a Training Coordinator, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
* End-to-End Apprenticeship Coordination – Manages the full learner journey in the carpentry sector, from initial assessment and induction to training delivery, progress tracking, and successful completion of apprenticeship standards.
* Learner Support & Assessment – Provides coaching, mentoring, and regular workplace assessments to develop learners’ knowledge, skills, and behaviours (KSBs), ensuring high-quality feedback and SMART target setting.
* Programme Development & Quality Assurance – Designs and coordinates training programmes, ensures compliance with awarding body standards, and actively participates in internal verification, standardisation, and curriculum improvement.
* Employer & Stakeholder Engagement – Liaises with employers to arrange assessments, provide progress updates, and promote apprenticeship opportunities, while collaborating with internal teams to ensure learner support and programme alignment.
* Compliance & Professional Standards – Maintains accurate learner records, adheres to funding rules, and upholds safeguarding, EDI, health & safety, and college values, while engaging in CPD and contributing to team development.
About You
* Essential Qualifications & Sector Expertise – GCSEs (A–C) in English and Maths, A1 Assessor or TAQA Award, and Level 2 & 3 qualifications in the relevant sector, with up-to-date knowledge of training, assessing, and verifying practices.
* Industry & Programme Experience – Recent commercial or industrial experience, with a strong background in training, assessing, and coordinating competence-based programmes, including employer liaison.
* Learner Engagement & Support – Skilled in motivating learners, managing caseloads, setting SMART targets, and ensuring timely qualification completion through effective communication and support.
* Administrative & Organisational Skills – Strong coordination and record-keeping abilities, ensuring compliance with audit requirements and successful apprenticeship delivery.
* Professional Attributes & Flexibility – Customer-focused, proactive, and adaptable, with time management skills and the ability to travel across sites while identifying new business opportunities and promoting college values.
