Planning Professional (Part-Time & Remote)
A unique opportunity for an experienced and pragmatic planning professional to work directly with a private client, offering expert guidance on a range of complex planning and environmental matters. This role would suit someone with a background in local authority planning, statutory undertakers, or consultancy—bringing both policy insight and practical delivery skills. A chance to work in a scenic, rural setting while engaging with complex, impactful planning matters
Key Responsibilities
* Provide expert advice on planning and environmental legislation
* Support neighbourhood plan development and progression
* Review and provide a pragmatic perspective on local planning applications
* Conduct research and prepare reports for planning committees and local matters
* Monitor and interpret local plan developments and proposals
* Offer informed recommendations on environmental and sustainability considerations
* Maintain confidential correspondence and sensitive documentation
What You’ll Need
* MRTPI preferred, or significant relevant experience
* Strong understanding of planning processes and legislation
* Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
* High level of organisation and attention to detail
* Ability to work independently and in close collaboration with the employer
* IT proficiency and confidence in producing professional reports and briefings
* Full, clean UK driving licence
* Interest in environmental, ecological, and sustainability matters desirable

* Competitive salary, dependent on experience
* Remote working but southeast based near Canterbury
