We are looking for motivated, hardworking, caring, and compassionate individuals, looking to start a rewarding career as a Healthcare Support Worker at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The role of a Healthcare Support Worker is varied, both equally challenging and rewarding, you will be at the forefront of providing direct patient care. Assisting patients with individualised elements of basic nursing care alongside the implementation of programs of care under the direction of a Registered Nurse as part of this role. Whilst also supporting Registered Nurse, Nursing Associates, and the wider multi-disciplinary teams in your ward/department and across the wider Trust.

You should be able to demonstrate a good verbal and written command of English, alongside excellent communication, and interpersonal skills as you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the patients' healthcare experiences by contributing to the on-going support of the patients and their relative/visitors.

Main duties of the job

Due to current home office guidelines, Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is unable to provide sponsorship as part of this role

Please note this role supports a24/7 serviceand therefore, as a healthcare support worker you will be required to work a combination of shifts including days, nights, weekends, and Bank Holidays

-Early Shift: 7:00-15:00 / 7:30 - 15:30

-Long Day: 7:00 - 19:30 / 07:30 - 20:00

-Late Shift: 12:00 Noon - 20:00

-Night Shift:7pm - 7:30 / 19:30 - 8am

Full time hours = 37.5 Hrs

Part time hours = 23.5 Hours - 30 Hrs

The Minimum required hours for this role are23.5 Hrs

Please also be aware that if you are successfully appointed to the role following shortlisting and an interview, you will berequired to attend the Healthcare Support Worker Bootcamp in your first two weeks of joining.

The Bootcamp takes placeover 2 weeks and is Monday to Friday 8:00 until 16:30 every day. After completing the bootcamp you will join the multi-disciplinary team in your allocated Ward / Department.

Please also note from a Health and wellbeing perspective-due to the requirement of the shift pattern the role is NOT suitable for full time students who are currently in full time Higher Education. E.g. a-Levels, College, and University

The post holder works as part of a Division based on both Trust sites. May be required to work unsocial hours as part of a shift pattern, including nights, evening, weekends and bank holidays.

Person Specification


Experience

* Previous experience of working in a health care setting
* An understanding of the Healthcare Support Worker/Assistant Role in a Hospital environment


Skills

* Literacy
* Numeracy
* Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills


Qualifications

* Ability to complete Care certificate within certificate within 3 months (12 weeks) of appointment
* NVQ level 2 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
* Literacy and Numeracy skills Level 2 (GCSE grades A-C/4-9)
