Due to significant growth across our Transmission and Distribution business, Wood is seeking a Project HSSESQ Manager to support our growing workload overseeing the delivery of significant scopes on a large overhead line project in Scotland. This role will require regular presence at the project office in Alness, and visits to site locations. Occasional business travel may be required for client and subcontractor meetings.

Wood Transmission and Distribution is seeking an established Project HSSESQ Manager to join our growing business. As a leading provider of engineering and construction services to the UK transmission and distribution sector, we are at the forefront of net zero 2050 with a secured workstream for years to come.
The Role
1. To manage the application of Occupational Health, Safety, Security, Environmental, Sustainability and Quality (HSSESQ) principles, systems, and measures throughout the project life cycle.
2. To be responsible for the provision of timely advice and guidance on all matters pertaining to HSSESQ with respect to Legislation, Company Policy and Management System and Client requirements, thereby reducing risks to the business.
3. To engage with and present to project leaders information and data to enable preventive interventions.
4. To ensure compliance with the Wood Business Management System and compliance through a structured assurance program.
5. This position has a broad scope and applies to a single project in the Scottish Highlands, and will be responsible for the project HSSESQ team.

Qualifications:
13. Degree/diploma or local equivalent in related discipline (desirable)
14. Lead Auditor qualification by a recognised industry body (essential)
15. Membership to an industry body such as IOSH, CQI, IEMA etc (desirable)
16. Formal training in recognized root cause analysis techniques (essential)
Knowledge, skills, and experience:
17. 8+ years of relevant experience (preferably in the associated industry)
18. Comprehensive understanding of industry standards (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001)
19. Knowledge of OHSES standards and legal requirements
20. Experience of working in and managing a Quality and HSE Management system environment
21. Proficient in the analysis of processes and data
22. Proficient in Microsoft Office
23. High Level of communication skills in both written and spoken format
24. Proficient in the use of continuous improvement tools and techniques
25. Knowledge of internal and external audits and third party certification audits practices
