KPMG's Pensions Advisory business continues to build out its new pensions team, and requires individuals with diverse skill sets.
We are looking for a talented and experienced Manager to join our team, responsible for working closely with colleagues in pensions data. Focus areas include:
* Data analysis and cleansing
* Implementing data improvement plans with stakeholders
* Data preparation for transactions (buy-ins)
* Data audits
* Benefit audits and calculations
* GMP projects
As a Manager, you will oversee team collaboration, supervise junior staff, and provide coaching and development support.
Description of role:
* Engage with internal stakeholders and support senior team members with external client relationships.
* Develop junior colleagues through technical training and knowledge sharing.
* Contribute to efficient procedures while maintaining quality standards.
* Manage finances by setting and meeting budgets, billing, and debt collection.
* Identify out-of-scope work and bill accordingly.
* Adhere to professional standards and KPMG quality procedures.
* Draft and review reports for final approval.
* Lead engagement teams, review work, and mentor team members.
* Perform performance management and support career development.
Role Dimensions:
Technical core competencies include:
* Pensions technical knowledge: Understanding of defined benefit pensions, regulations, and legislation, focusing on data and benefits.
* Data and technology skills: Proficiency with large data sets, Excel, R, Python, VBA, Power Query, MS Access, SQL.
* Software Development: Experience with C# and Power Apps.
* Professional scepticism: Applying objectivity and independence in actuarial work.
* Documentation: Maintaining quality and audit trails per standards.

The Person:
Experience & Knowledge:
* Manager-level pensions advisory experience, preferably in a Big 4 or consultancy.
* Deep understanding of pensions data and projects.
* Technical knowledge of valuations, methodologies, and UK pensions landscape.
* Leadership and mentoring experience.
* Project delivery and stakeholder management skills.
* IT proficiency with MS Office and programming languages, AI knowledge is a plus.
Behavioural attributes include strong communication, stakeholder management, organizational skills, resilience, problem-solving, analytical skills, and teamwork.
Qualifications: A qualified actuary, AIA, FIA, or equivalent.
