Interviews
For this role, you must bring evidence of the following qualifications:
* GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or Level 2 Functional Skills for Maths and English.
* A Full Care Certificate OR NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (NVQ must be from a regulated awarding body).
When you hold overseas GCSE equivalent qualifications, you will need to bring an ECCTIS comparability statement for your GCSE equivalent qualifications along with your original certificate.
Failure to provide the above qualifications at interview will result in the interview not proceeding.
Main duties of the job
We are a unit that comprises 28 beds and care for patients in the specialities of ENT, Maxillofacial, Onco plastics and plastic surgery, general surgery, and ophthalmology.
We are looking for a senior clinical nursing assistant (Band 3) who has a caring nature and skills to care for a complex group of patients, including those who have undergone major head and neck surgery. You must have previous caring experience and an understanding of the Proud to Care documentation and its importance in maintaining patient safety and quality.
You are required to cover over a 24‑hour period, therefore the post holder must be able to work both night and day shifts. It is imperative that you can work night shifts.
You need to be able to prioritise your work load, work as a member of a team, be professional at all times, communicate well, and have good time management.

Job responsibilities
The Band 3 Senior Clinical Support Worker should actively contribute to the health and well‑being of patients, staff and service users and be able to communicate effectively with sensitivity and compassion. They should be able to work independently within their sphere of nursing under the supervision of registered nurses. They should demonstrate a level of skill and understanding which enables them to undertake specific skills and tasks delegated by the registered nurse and in accordance with relevant procedures, guidelines and policies at UHNM. They will be required to undertake both routine and specialist tasks for which they have been trained and assessed as competent.
Qualifications and documents required at recruitment
* GCSEs or equivalent Certificate for Maths and English, equivalent to current Level 4/C or level 2 functional skills Maths/English.
* If you have completed your qualifications overseas you must apply or provide an ECCTIS compatibility statement.
* Completed Care Certificate.
Person Specification – Experience
* 12 months experience in a professional contract as a Healthcare Assistant or equivalent.
Person Specification – Qualifications
* Educated to GCSE level 4/C or Level 2 equivalent, including Maths and English (ECCTIS is required for overseas qualifications).
* Hold a full Care Certificate or NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (NVQ must be from an accredited awarding body).

Salary: £24,937 to £26,598 a year pro‑rata.
