This is a hybrid role working 2 days a week out of our Central London office.
Responsibilities:
Part of a rapidly expanding business, Darktrace’s tax team faces a wide range of tax obligations, issues and plays an integral role in a range of company-wide projects. The role will be responsible for indirect taxes in over 20 jurisdictions. We are looking for a seasoned professional in indirect tax management to take ownership and charge to work and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth running of Indirect Tax matters. Specifically, you'll be assisting on;
* Preparing, reviewing and submitting VAT returns for EU and non-EU jurisdictions, leveraging advisers where appropriate, ensuring submission of returns within deadlines
* Reconciling GL sales to reported VAT sales, including monthly GL reconciliations and monthly GL Journals
* Monitoring and optimising the Indirect Tax position
* Act in an advisory capacity to the business with regard to Indirect Taxes
* Ongoing assessment of any changes required to the VAT return procedure as a result of business and/or regulatory changes
* Ensuring internal processes and procedures, both within the VAT team and across the business, are fit for purpose
* You will be the VAT Subject Matter Expert for projects across the business, providing technical expertise and a framework for VAT compliant change
* Managing information and data requests from external audit teams and Tax Authorities
Candidate Requirements:
You'll be able to demonstrate experience in preparing and reviewing VAT returns. Knowledge of customs and/or US sales tax would be very useful as would exposure to tax technology and ERP systems (Workday experience preferable). We would expect candidates to have a solid background in tax and be CTA or a qualified accountant with solid indirect tax experience either in practice or an inhouse tax role. Candidates should be university educated with a relevant degree.
