Your new company
Your new role will be working for a public sector organization based in Liverpool, dedicated to research and teaching in tropical medicine.
Your new role
* Ensuring the facility is well maintained and high standards of service are delivered by in-house and external contractors.
* Organizing reactive maintenance and repairs of HVAC, autoclaves, and specialized systems.
* Maintaining and repairing en-suite bathrooms, sinks, and plumbing facilities.
* Performing planned preventive maintenance, inspections, and testing of facilities, plant, equipment, and systems.
* Coordinating with suppliers, contractors, and staff, managing quotations, and obtaining approvals.
* Assisting with administrative tasks like updating spreadsheets and managing space data in CAFM system.
Security and Fire Marshall
* Overseeing operation and maintenance of access systems, managing access card database, and updating access levels.
* Providing security contractor and fire marshall training and oversight.
* Supporting fire risk assessments, audits, and training activities.
* Participating in emergency response teams and managing security protocols including CCTV and alarm systems.
Cleaning, Decontamination, and Infection Control
* Monitoring cleaning quality through audits, liaising with housekeeping.
* Organizing specialized cleaning and decontamination services.
* Managing the use of hydrogen peroxide vapour generators and ensuring high standards of participant suite cleaning.
Inspection and Audit
* Supporting estate condition audits and inspections, generating reports, and identifying issues.
General Responsibilities
* Promoting equality and inclusive practices.
* Performing additional duties as assigned, including acting as 'On Call' Engineer, supervising teams, and supporting administrative tasks.
* Participating in staff development and training.
What you'll need to succeed
Requirements include:
- Good numeracy and literacy
- NEBOSH Certificate (General or Fire)
- Fire Warden training
- Valid First Aid Certificate
- Customer care training
- SIA CCTV Licence
- Fire risk assessor qualification
- Mechanical HNC
