This is an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nursing Associate to learn and deliver peritoneal dialysis to our home dialysis cohort in the community. The role is based in Kent and Canterbury Hospital, home dialysis unit.
Working hours: 37.5 hours per week – 08:00 to 16:00 Monday to Friday, or 08:00 to 18:00 four days a week.
Responsibilities
* Provide peritoneal dialysis care to in‑patients and out‑patients, including fluid management, recording observations, daily weights, medication, anaemia, transplant, and diabetes management.
* Work alongside specialist nurses within the Home Dialysis Service.
* Support patients and carers in the community and hospital settings, delivering training and care to ensure emotional and psychosocial well‑being.
* Carry out outpatient clinic work off‑site, visiting patients in their homes across East and West Kent.
* Act as a patient advocate, working autonomously with support from clinical nurse specialists.
Training & Support
* In‑house training for safe delivery of peritoneal dialysis, including specific dialysis training.
* Band 6/7 mentor while training and Band 4 Registered Nurse Associate for peer support.
Requirements & Eligibility
* Registered Nursing Associate or willingness to undertake the registered nurse associate course.
* Positive, caring attitude, ability to work as a team member.
* Strong spoken English communication skills.
* Eligible for a Disclosure and Barring Service check; exemption from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 where applicable.
* For roles requiring Tier 2 sponsorship, meet UK Visas and Immigration eligibility criteria.
* Must be willing to comply with the Trust’s no‑smoking policy.
