Responsibilities

S Shift Manager - Heanor - working 2 days / 2 nights and 4 days off (12 hours per shift)

As part of the operations team you will:

1. Enforce Health & Safety requirements in accordance with company policy. Specifically:
2. Promote positive safety culture / awareness considering behaviours and attitudes
3. Participate in safety audits/checks when required
4. Complete initial accident, incident and near miss investigations and reporting
5. Enforce compliance with safe working practices (SOPs)
6. Production & Quality:
7. Maximise output in line with production plan
8. Optimises outputs by reducing scrap levels, blend costs and energy use whilst maximising machine utilisation
9. Manage labour costs and plan resources effectively
10. Ensure quality systems are followed, standards are met, and corrective actions are closed out
11. Enforce 5s principals across all departments
12. Effective delegation of engineering resource
13. Work closely with planning to understand customer requirements / priorities
14. Enforce production/quality audit requirements
15. People
16. Identify and support training and development of direct reports across all departments
17. Responsible for the completion of all training requirements for all employees (new and existing) across all departments
18. Manage internal recruitment and agency resource
19. Enforce effective absence management controls and individual performance management
20. Review of performance and feedback to direct reports via the appraisal process

Qualifications

Qualifications/Requirements

21. A proven track record of successful leadership within a manufacturing organisation
22. Experience of day to day running of a manufacturing plant
23. Self-motivated with proven experience of developing and motivating employees
24. Good interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people.
25. Good written and presentational skills.
26. Ability to perform under pressure
27. Excellent IT skills and the ability to analyse data
