NHS HIGHLAND – ARGYLL AND BUTE HSCP Carradale Surgery and Kintyre Medical Group Vacancy of 80 hours in total, can be made up of 20 – 40 hours per post 40 hours to be predominantly based in Carradale Surgery with some cross cover to Kintyre Medical Group 40 hours to be predominantly based in Kintyre Medical Group with some cross cover to Carradale Surgery (GMC GP Registered) £98,238 - £110,736 Per Annum Pro Rata ‘Golden Hello’ incentives and relocation packages are also available to eligible candidates. This is an exciting opportunity as we are building a new team of salaried General Practitioners. There will be the opportunity to get involved in Quality Improvement Projects with a focus on enhancing patient experience and streamlining the processes in the practices. Locations Carradale, Muasdale and Southend are on the stunning west coast of Scotland, situated on the Kintyre peninsula. The peninsula offers beautiful and varied views, sandy beaches, rivers, lochs and forests, all dissected by the Kintyre Way. Various arts and festivals take place throughout the year, and a particularly lively music culture is evident. The allure of this location is found in the warm and hospitable demeanour of its residents, complemented by a relaxed and rewarding lifestyle. The area, surrounded by sandy beaches, provides an ideal setting for a variety of water sports. For those seeking adventure, local wild swimming groups offer opportunities to embrace the elements. The Kintyre Way is an essential experience for avid walkers. This 7-stage, waymarked trail traverses the picturesque Kintyre peninsula, spanning 100 miles from Tarbert to Southend. The villages of Muasdale and Southend are equidistant to Campbeltown, which is the largest town on the Kintyre peninsula. Carradale is a 16 mile drive from Campbeltown on the East Coast of the Peninsula. Campbeltown is a two-hour drive from Oban and 3 hours from Glasgow. A daily flight, Mon-Fri and summertime also on Sunday, from Machrihanish Airport can transport you to Glasgow Airport within 30 minutes and offers an opportunity to take in some spectacular views as you fly over the Isle of Arran. Northern Ireland is accessible by our seasonal passenger ferry from Campbeltown to Ballycastle. The Isle of Arran is accessible by a year round car ferry, and there is also the option of reaching Glasgow and Ayrshire via ferry links. The Isle of Gigha is linked to the mainland by way of a shuttle ferry on the hour every day. About Our Practices Carradale Surgery and Kintyre Medical Group work closely with the local Community Hospital in Campbeltown. Campbeltown Hospital provides A&E/Out-of-hours cover, overseen by our GP colleagues at Campbeltown Medical Practice. The hospital provides outreach clinics from both Oban and Glasgow Hospitals, along with exceptional care from our physiotherapy team, maternity unit, and Community Nursing teams. Though all the practices in this linked group are dispensing practices, there are close links with Campbeltown, Tarbert and Mid-Argyll Pharmacy teams.
