Are you an experienced Design Engineer? Are you looking for a new challenge? We're working with a client with an excellent reputation for staff retention and development. They are looking for a Design Engineer to support a range of infrastructure and construction projects. The role involves producing temporary and permanent works designs, ensuring they are safe, buildable, and aligned with project methods. You'll work closely with site teams, suppliers, and external designers to support efficient project delivery. Key Responsibilities Produce temporary works designs (e.g., excavation support, access systems, propping, water-control solutions). Prepare and review calculations, drawings, design briefs, risk assessments, and method-related documents. Provide on-site technical support and help resolve design queries. Check internal and external design submissions for compliance and buildability. Coordinate with site engineers, temporary works coordinators, subcontractors, and design consultants. Ensure designs integrate with construction sequencing, access, and environmental constraints. Contribute to digital design outputs, CAD modelling, and working in a Common Data Environment. Skills & Experience Strong understanding of structural and temporary works principles. Experience producing temporary works designs in a construction environment. Able to interpret and create engineering drawings and calculations. Good communication and collaboration skills. Experience working on live construction sites. Exposure to complex or constrained sites is an advantage. Technology Proficient in AutoCAD and structural analysis software (e.g., Tedds, Tekla/TSD, Robot, etc.). Competent with Microsoft 365 and digital collaboration tools. Qualifications Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent). Full driving licence.
