Autism Provision Teacher (Autism Unit) – Join Our Dynamic and Inclusive Primary School. Location: Wandsworth Contract: Full-time, Permanent/Long-Term Contract Salary: M1 - UP3 Are you an experienced and compassionate leader, passionate about creating inclusive and supportive learning environments for children with Autism? We’re looking for an inspiring Autism Provision Teacher (Autism Unit) to join our vibrant primary mainstream school! Our school, pride themselves on fostering a culture of inclusion and respect, where every child is empowered to achieve their full potential. The Autism Unit plays a pivotal role in this mission, providing tailored support and a nurturing environment for their neurodiverse learners. Your Role: Lead and manage our dedicated Autism Unit, ensuring high-quality provision for children with Autism within a mainstream setting. Collaborate with senior leaders and the wider school community to embed inclusive practices across the curriculum. Support and develop a team of skilled staff, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. Build strong relationships with pupils, families, and external agencies to ensure holistic and personalised support/be a champaion for students with Autism.
1. Have an excellent understanding of SEN and autism and the specific strategies necessary to provide students with the best possible learning experiences
2. Demonstrate an excellent ability to understand individual student needs and plan provision accordingly
3. Be a highly effective and reflective practitioner who can lead by example, demonstrate and model best practice
4. Possess excellent communication, interpersonal and organisation skills
5. Support the Head of Base & SENDCo in the development of provision for pupils with ASD
6. With the Head of Base, monitor, evaluate and review the quality of learning and teaching in accordance with school policy
You Will Bring: Proven leadership experience in a specialist or inclusive educational setting. Deep understanding of Autism and a commitment to inclusive education.
