Main duties of the job

What You'll Do:

* Lead and inspire our advocacy team to deliver exceptional support.
* Build strong, collaborative relationships with academies and schools.
* Manage referrals and allocate cases efficiently, ensuring timely and effective service delivery.
* Develop and grow our services by bringing innovative ideas.
* Oversee budgets, manage Service Level Agreements, analyze data, and prepare reports.
* Take a leading role in Children and Young People's Safeguarding, working with DSL in Teesside Mind.

About us

Teesside Mind has been working in local communities to improve mental health and wellbeing for over 25 years. The environment has changed significantly, and understanding of mental health has increased.

One of our recent achievements is collaborating with Primary Care colleagues on Social Prescribing on Teesside. Our merger with Redcar and Cleveland Mind has expanded our services across Teesside.

Our communities face challenges due to Covid's impact on health and wellbeing, with some groups less served than others. We are committed to change. Can you help us?

Job responsibilities

* Engage with and deliver services to school partners, from onboarding to ongoing support and renewals.
* Ensure all Service Level Agreements are negotiated, signed, and delivered according to terms.
* Develop relationships with lead contacts, managing renewals and upselling opportunities.
* Provide line management and performance support to CYP practitioners and senior practitioners.
* Oversee daily service operations, coordinating practitioner placements and ensuring efficiency within budget, in collaboration with the Finance Team.
* Manage case flow from referral to triage, allocation, and parent liaison, optimizing case numbers and geographical distribution.
* Collaborate with NHS, community partners, and education settings, including external forums like SPOC or CYP Team Leads, to ensure appropriate pathways for service users.
* Implement service improvements, ensure quality, and review safety assessments regularly to meet clinical standards.
* Support team delivery of evidence-based support, sharing best practices and resources.
* Stay informed about policy and system changes through relevant sessions and conferences.
* Offer support and consultation to teachers, school staff, parents, SENCOs, and other professionals.
* Collect and analyze service data, including activity, outcomes, and risks, to produce reports for internal and external use.
* Facilitate peer supervision sessions to promote reflection and shared learning.
* Contribute to team meetings and coordinate training to enhance practitioner skills.

Safeguarding:

* Lead Children and Young People's Safeguarding efforts in collaboration with the DSL and CYP Team leads.
* Support staff in responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns.

New Business Development:

* Assist in identifying and pursuing sustainable new business opportunities, including marketing and sales strategies.
* Build relationships with local organizations, schools, and authorities.
* Identify school-specific health and wellbeing needs and develop collaborative solutions.
* Adapt flexibly to changing requirements of the role.


Person Specification


Experience

* Project management, quality assurance, and performance monitoring experience.
* Business development, including sales, marketing, and securing investment.
* Partnership working and contract management experience.
* Line management and supervision for 3+ years.
* Safeguarding concern management.
* Service improvement initiatives.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Experience working in educational settings and with children and young people facing mental health challenges.


Other qualities

Qualifications

* Education to Level 3 or equivalent.


Knowledge

* Financial and budget understanding.

* Understanding of challenges faced by children and young people.
* IT and administrative skills.
* Self-management, decision-making, and ability to work under pressure.
* Knowledge of clinical safety assessments and risk management.

This role requires a DBS check due to safeguarding responsibilities.
