A rapidly expanding electronics SME business based in Cheshire are looking for a Head of Supply Chain to join their team. This is a newly created role to support a business in a period of significant expansion and is looking for a Head of Supply Chain to lead the end to end global supply chain strategy and execution. Operating within a fully outsourced manufacturing model, the Director oversees core supply chain functions, including demand and supply planning, inventory management, logistics, and product lifecycle support, ensuring operational excellence and supply continuity. About the role: Lead the global demand planning and S&OP process to deliver consensus-based forecasts that demonstrate improving accuracy Collaborate with commercial teams to ensure demand signals reflect market realities, seasonal variation and business priorities Develop supply plans aligned with demand, supplier capability and working capital targets Define and implement inventory policies to maintain availability while optimising working capital, that deliver excellent inventory health across the group Monitor and manage excess and obsolete stock, particularly during product transitions Working in collaboration with local markets, oversee global logistics including inbound freight, local warehousing, and distribution Proactively manage 3PL partners and freight forwarders to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery across all channels and markets Support new product launches by aligning supply plans with development and commercial timelines Manage inventory and supply planning through all product lifecycle phases, including retirement Monitor supplier delivery performance and operational capability to meet demand and service levels Identify and manage supply risks, in collaboration with procurement Drive supplier issue resolution and performance improvement through regular engagement and KPI tracking Ensure accuracy of supply chain master data to support effective planning and decision-making Lead initiatives to improve system reliability, data integrity, and standardisation Lead projects related to footprint optimisation, supply chain digitalisation, and sustainability Embed a culture of continuous improvement through the use of KPIs, analytics, and cross-functional collaboration Identify global supply chain risks and lead mitigation efforts in coordination with internal teams and suppliers Develop and maintain contingency and continuity plans to protect supply availability and business performance About the person: Strong experience managing CMOs, ideally those based in the Far East Thorough knowledge of international freight, warehousing and 3PL management Inspirational leader, with strong ability to influence cross-functional teams and lead across departments and regions Ability to drive change in a positive manner Strategic thinker but must be able to have a hands on approach Previous experience working within an SME or within a business going through significant growth would be preferred Comfortable with global travel - 1 week every 2 months spent in the Far East To apply for the role please send your CV to Robert Walters Operations Limited is an employment business and employment agency and welcomes applications from all candidates
