We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Year 6 Teacher to join our team from April 2025 on a part-time, permanent basis. Role Overview This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced or newly qualified teacher looking for a flexible, part-time role in a supportive environment. As a Year 6 Teacher you will work closely with a co-teacher to deliver high-quality teaching, ensuring a smooth transition for pupils as they prepare for their SATs and the move to secondary school. Key Responsibilities Teaching & Learning Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons in line with the Year 6 curriculum. Work collaboratively with your job-share partner to ensure consistency in teaching and learning. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all pupils feel valued and motivated. Prepare pupils for SATs, ensuring they feel confident and well-supported. Pupil Progress & Assessment Assess and track pupil progress, using data to inform planning and interventions. Provide targeted support to pupils who require additional help to reach their potential. Maintain accurate records and contribute to pupil reports for parents and school leadership. Classroom & Behaviour Management Establish clear expectations for behaviour and maintain a respectful and engaging learning environment. Promote a growth mindset and resilience in pupils as they approach their final year of primary education. Support pupils in developing independence and confidence in their learning. Collaboration & Professional Development Work closely with your job-share partner, year group colleagues, and leadership team to ensure consistency and high standards. Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and school events as required. Engage with parents and carers, fostering strong partnerships to support pupil learning and well-being. School Contribution Participate in school-wide activities, trips, and extracurricular opportunities where possible. Contribute to the wider school community and uphold the school’s values and ethos. Support school improvement initiatives and share best practices with colleagues. Candidate Requirements Essential: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally in Year 6. Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and SATs preparation. Excellent communication and teamwork skills to ensure a successful job-share arrangement. A commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and supporting pupil progress. Desirable: Experience in a job-share teaching role or working collaboratively with other teachers. Knowledge of effective interventions for supporting SATs preparation.
