The day-to-day
As a Lead Test Engineer at Reward working on our loyalty platform in a fast paced, agile environment, you will be contributing to the quality and development of our core product suite. This includes creation / execution of test scripts, identifying defects, being a subject matter expert on Reward products, testing estimates and resource planning across multiple environments.
The Role
The Lead Test Engineer will be responsible for implementing the automated testing strategy within the engineering team, ensuring the quality and reliability of software products. This role involves leading a team of test engineers, working across multiple stakeholders to develop a comprehensive automated testing solution to support CICD, and collaborating with other departments to deliver high-quality software solutions.
* Testing Strategy: Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive testing strategies and plans to ensure the quality and reliability of software products. Ensure that testing is integrated into the development process.
* Collaboration: Work closely with software developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure that testing is aligned with project goals.
* Test Automation: Oversee the development and maintenance of automated testing frameworks and scripts to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
* Quality Assurance: Ensure that all software products meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and security through rigorous testing and validation.
* Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve testing processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the testing team.
* Issue Management: Manage and prioritize testing issues and defects, working with the development team to ensure timely resolution.
* Reporting: Provide regular reports on testing progress, issues, and outcomes to the engineering leadership team.
The Requirements
* Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in test engineering with experience of leading teams.
* Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of automated testing methodologies, tools, and frameworks (e.g., Typescript, Cypress.io, Cypress Cloud, BBD (Cucumber & Gherkin), Mailosaur, AWS, JIRA, TestMo) & a proficiency in developing and maintaining automated testing scripts and frameworks. Knowledge of API & Performance Testing.
* Agile Practices: Experience working in an Agile development environment, with a strong understanding of Agile principles and practices
* Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve testing issues quickly and effectively.
* Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
* Ability to buy and sell holiday days as well as the ability to bank days (tenure dependent)
