Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to lead on mental health education for acute hospital and community staff at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust. The post-holder will plan, deliver and evaluate mental health education for multi-professional staff across the organisation. Mental health education topics will be identified according to organisational need and identified areas of risk. Education programmes will be developed in collaboration with the clinical lead for mental health, service leads including Collaborative lead nurses, head of safeguarding, associate directors for allied health professions and director of midwifery.
The post holder will be hosted within the Practice Development Team. The Practice Development function supports a wide range of learning and development opportunities in order to meet identified training and development needs of clinical staff and learners. Our focus is on ensuring the provision of high quality learning and development opportunities to support our staff and external learners to deliver high quality evidence based patient care and maintain safe working practices.
Main duties of the job
The role will support the provision of education and training to a range of healthcare professionals and learners. The role is pivotal in ensuring all clinical staff are up to date with education and training in relation to mental health required for their role in order to provide excellent patient care. The role will involve working across sites and with multiple teams within the speciality.
Working collaboratively the post holder will develop, deliver and evaluate clinical education programmes. The post holder will act as a clinical role model, working collaboratively to implement process that support the delivery of training and education and contribute to the development of relevant policies, guidelines and scope of practice.
To provide professional leadership for the development of the registered and non-registered healthcare professionals. To be a clinical expert to provide “hands on” supervision of staff in clinical practice to promote the acquisition of new skills and knowledge. Undertake training needs analyses to inform a training plan which utilises both internal and external education and training resources.

Qualifications
* Registered Mental Health Nurse with current professional registration with NMC.
* Educated to degree level in relevant subject area.
* Evidence of post graduate level study or equivalent experience.
* Recognised level 7 teaching qualification or equivalent experience.
* Coaching or mentoring qualification or completion of practice educator preparation programme.
* Specialist post registration certificate in clinical speciality or equivalent experience.
* Leadership module/qualification.
* Post Graduate Certificate in Education.
Knowledge and Experience
* Extensive clinical experience in mental health services.
