We are looking to appoint an Associate Director Transport Planner to join our innovative Highways and Infrastructure Team. The location is flexible to suit either Leicester or Nottingham.
Our team of transportation planners and engineers cover the full project lifecycle from initial concept to completion. As Associate Director, you will lead a team of passionate transport planners, delivering projects across schemes including defence, education, residential, leisure, healthcare, and local authority sectors.
The schemes vary in complexity, often working as part of our multi-disciplinary offering. The successful candidate will work closely with the Directors of Civil Engineering and other departments, leading major projects across various sectors including residential, custodial, leisure, defence, education, healthcare, and heritage.
Joining our team offers valuable training, guidance, and career development opportunities. Your core responsibilities will include: participating in proposals, bidding, tendering, client meetings, representing the firm, managing complex projects, developing new and repeat business, and nurturing the team of transport engineers.

About You
Our ideal candidate will have:
* A relevant degree with significant experience.
* A professional qualification (CIHT, TPP).
* Proven leadership skills fostering team collaboration and confidence.
* Experience managing complex clients and large teams.
* Skills in report writing, data analysis, Active Travel/highway assessments, transport planning, business cases, TAs, Travel Plans, economic appraisals, and highway reports.
* Experience with appeals and as an expert witness.
* Proficiency in ARCADY, PICADY, LinSig, and knowledge of TRICS, TEMPRO, and UK Census data.
* Familiarity with DMRB and Manual for Streets standards.
* Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
* Self-motivation, efficiency, enthusiasm, leadership, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
* Experience in QA governance and risk advisory.
* Commitment to ongoing professional development (CPD).
