Job Summary
Optomise Ltd provides eye care services to patients in their own homes, care homes, and community settings. We are seeking an Optical Assistant to support our domiciliary optometrists in delivering high-quality, patient-focused eye care.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of our optical practice, assisting both customers and optometrists in providing exceptional eye care services.
Responsibilities
* Accompany the optometrist on domiciliary visits to private homes and care homes.
* Set up and maintain testing equipment in different environments.
* Assist patients with history taking, pre-test procedures, and frame selection.
* Provide clear information to patients, families, and carers about eye care, spectacles, and aftercare.
* Take accurate frame measurements, order lenses, and ensure timely delivery.
* Support fitting, adjustments, and minor repairs of spectacles.
* Maintain accurate records, including patient details and stock management.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols and company standards.
* Deliver excellent customer service with professionalism and respect.
Qualifications
* Previous optical experience preferred but not essential; full training provided.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a mobile team.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Flexibility to travel within the designated region.
* Empathy and patience when working with elderly or vulnerable patients.
* Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of service.
