Role & Responsibilities
1. Prepare budget estimates and cost plans to support early project decisions and approvals.
2. Produce tender documents with clear cost information for procurement and contractor pricing.
3. Review tender returns, prepare evaluations and support clear recommendations for client decisions.
4. Carry out interim valuations to monitor progress, payment requirements and project cost position.
5. Prepare cost reports and final accounts with accurate commentary on risks and movements.
6. Assess contractor claims, variations and change control matters with a balanced commercial approach.
7. Report directly to clients through written updates, meetings and confident project presentations.
8. Work flexibly across project stages, office collaboration and regular travel when required.
Skills & Experience Required
9. Cost management experience across pre-contract and post-contract duties within property or construction.
10. Degree qualified, with MRICS status or active progress towards professional chartership preferred.
11. Strong numeracy and literacy skills, supported by an appropriate educational background.
12. Able to communicate technical information clearly with clients, consultants and design teams.
13. Confident using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint for reporting and presentations.
14. Considered negotiation skills when working with contractors, variations and commercial matters.
15. High attention to detail when reviewing costs, documents, reports and contract information.
16. Self-motivated and organised, with the ability to meet deadlines under limited supervision.
