JOB DESCRIPTION
Do you thrive in a high-energy environment, love solving problems, and have an eye for detail? If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!
We’re looking for a Credit Controller to join our friendly and collaborative NHS SBS Finance & Accounting O2C team based in Leeds. Our department is central to maintaining healthy cash flow across the business, working with NHS, local authority, and commercial clients. You’ll be part of a close-knit team of people who value communication, teamwork, and a positive attitude. The team is known for its fantastic hard work, and we’re proud of our supportive team culture.
We’re a leading organisation committed to delivering exceptional service and building strong relationships with our clients. Our culture is built on collaboration, integrity, and innovation. We invest in our people, offering career progression opportunities, flexible benefits, and training and development to help you grow.
This is a hybrid role – you’ll need to be within a 1-hour commute of Leeds for meetings and training.
Do you need credit control experience?
Whilst experience in credit control is highly beneficial, it’s not essential. We know credit control is a broad field, and what matters most are the qualities that are hard to train:
* An analytical approach and strong attention to detail skills.
* Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills.
* Resilience, persistence, and professionalism.
* Team collaboration and customer relationship management.
If you have these behaviours and traits, we can train you on the technical side of credit control. Attitude and approach are what make the difference!
What you'll be doing:
* Handling inbound communications and responding to queries within 24 hours.
* Handling outbound activity via email and phone, using structured work lists.
* Raising queries with NHS Trusts and following up on responses.
* Navigating spreadsheets to support statements and reporting.
* Collaborating with team members to meet shared goals.
* Supporting ad hoc tasks as required.
What you’ll bring:
* Clear, professional, and persuasive communication skills, written and verbal.
* Good working knowledge of Excel and data navigation.
* A proactive and articulate approach to problem-solving.
* Strong organisational skills to handle multiple accounts and deadlines.
* Attention to detail and accuracy in handling data.
* Resilience and persistence to follow up consistently.
* Ability to build trust and maintain positive customer relationships
If you’re interested in this role but not sure if your skills and experience are exactly what we’re looking for, please do apply – we’d love to hear from you!
