Role Overview: As a SEMH TA, you willsupport pupils with SEMH needs by building trusting relationships, encouraging emotional resilience, and helping them re-engage with learning in a safe and structured environment. Responsibilities as a SEMH Teaching Assistant: Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs. Help pupils develop emotional regulation and positive coping strategies. Assist in planning and delivering activities that promote engagement and personal development. Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff, and external agencies. Maintain consistent routines and boundaries to support behavioural progress. Requirements for SEMH Teaching Assistant: Proven experience working with children or young people with SEMH or challenging behaviour. Calm, empathetic, and non-judgemental attitude. Full UK driving licence with business insurance (essential for travel or off-site provision). Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
