Salary & Hours
Grade 5, £34,415.19 – £38,886.60 per annum (initial placement at first point of scale, progressing annually). Full‑time or part‑time.
Location
Hybrid / WCS Campuses / Employer sites.

Key Responsibilities
* Manage, organise and plan caseload of Engineering learners undertaking Modern Apprenticeships and stand‑alone SVQs at varied stages to ensure successful completion and contract compliance.
* Monitor candidate progress, arrange and conduct workplace assessments using a variety of techniques.
* Maintain accurate assessment records, ensuring documentation is processed according to College policies and internal/external verification requirements.
* Carry out regular workplace visits to support and assess candidates, fostering strong relationships with candidates and employers.
* Engage in standardisation of assessment evidence to ensure consistency and quality.
* Communicate progress effectively with candidates’ line managers, adhering to strict deadlines and quality standards.
* Security clearance checks will be carried out on appointment due to the sensitive nature of some employers.
Applicant Essentials
* Minimum SCQF Level 7 (e.g. HNC) qualification in Electrical, Mechanical or Technical Support Engineering.
* Technical competence in one or more of the Engineering vocational areas (knowledge, practical skills and application in real work environment).
* Excellent communication and organisational skills, able to engage effectively with a diverse range of candidates and employers.
* Demonstrable experience of working towards targets, independently and as part of a team.
* Clean driving licence and use of own car for business purposes.
Applicants who do not have a current Assessor qualification will be required to achieve this qualification within 12 months of commencing in the role.
