**Technical Manager (Building)**
About the Role
The Technical Manager (Building) is a leadership position responsible for overseeing the maintenance team within a correctional facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of Maintenance Engineers and Operatives, ensuring the estate complies with statutory regulations and service level agreements.
Main Responsibilities
* Plan and direct Engineers and Operatives to carry out reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) building and fire compliance meeting locking policy and spare key safe management
* Monitor local and national contracts, planning and prioritizing workloads to ensure outputs are delivered on time
Requirements
* A recognized apprenticeship and qualification in a relevant building-related discipline such as Carpentry & Joinery to a minimum of SVQ Level 3 or equivalent
* Experience of building maintenance and repair work in meeting fire and locking compliance, and a willingness to develop new skills in mechanical and building maintenance
* Excellent organisational skills, including prioritization, forward planning, and managing competing demands
* Sound knowledge of relevant legislation including Health & Safety, Safe Systems of Work, Building and work to locking policy and spare key safe management
