Large Animal Veterinary Surgeon – Northern Ireland
My client in Cookstown, Northern Ireland are looking to recruit a large animal vet. This role offers a large-animal-only caseload within a supportive, collaborative environment where knowledge is shared, professional development is encouraged, and career progression is structured. Whether you are a developing or experienced vet, they welcome applications from candidates from 12 months upwards to join this eight-vet farm practice.
Based in the historic town of Cookstown, this veterinary group provides small animal, farm, and pig services. And are also a recognized veterinary nurse training centre. The farm team delivers consultancy, herd health, and fertility management across a diverse client base. Farms vary from 30 to over 1,100 cows, and they also work with suckler herds, beef finishing units, sheep, and camelids. You will be part of a dynamic and structured team, with the opportunity to learn from experienced colleagues, including certificate holders, and gain hands-on experience in a variety of large-animal settings.
The role offers a total remuneration package ranging from £47,000 to £75,000, depending on experience, which includes salary, accommodation, a company van, Out-of-hours work is required on a one-in-four rota, with time off in lieu provided for weekend work. CPD and certificate training are strongly encouraged and fully supported, helping you to develop your skills and achieve your professional goals.
