Key responsibilities:

* Work with individuals or small groups of pupils in the classroom under the direct supervision of teaching staff
* Supervise and provide particular support for pupils, including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
* Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher
* Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment in accordance with lesson plans and assist with the display of pupils’ work
* Monitor pupils’ responses to learning activities and accurately record achievement and progress as directed

Pay range: SCP 16 - SCP 20 £29,527.37 to £31,298.73 - 37 hours per week 39 weeks per year (Including Inner London Weighting)

FTE - £33,572.00 to £35,586.00 (Including Inner London Weighting)

Qualifications and Skills:

* Relevant educational experience supporting a child/children in a primary school setting
* Experience of working with children who have a wide variety of educational needs
* Ability to model acceptable behaviours and encourage good social skills
* GCSE Maths and English minimum grade 4 or equivalent
* Level 4 | HLTA qualification and or relevant experience

Knowledge of the issues related to working with children who reside in areas of high socio-economic deprivation Essential

Knowledge of strategies to develop learning Essential

Ability to assess and record the progress of students’ learning Desirable

Ability to prioritise workload effectively to meet deadlines and work under pressure Essential
