Overview
Due to significant tenders in the Energy sector, a tier 1 civil engineering contractor has an excellent opportunity for a Commercial Manager to join the leadership team. This is a strategic role with succession plans to become Divisional Commercial Director in five years.
The Commercial Manager will lead a Quantity Surveying team responsible for a portfolio of projects valued at about £60M per annum. Schemes include sub-station builds and major cable routing projects across the region as part of a strategic partnership.
Role and Responsibilities
* Report to the Commercial Director and lead a commercial team on projects in Berkshire and Hampshire.
* Develop and manage the project’s commercial strategy.
* Supervise project cash flow and submission of interim applications.
* Supervise the preparation of the project’s final accounts.
* Effectively manage risk and opportunities.
* Provide contractual, financial, and commercial advice to the project team.
* Manage and check all contract arrangements with clients and subcontractors.
* Draft appropriate contract documents and prepare necessary commercial reports.
* Oversee reporting on the project financial position, including monthly cost value reconciliations and project forecasting.
Experience and Skills
* Experience on NEC projects would be beneficial.
* Experience with large civil engineering projects preferred.
* Previous employment with a large Tier 1 contractor is beneficial.
* Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills; ability to meet strict deadlines.
