Are you passionate about supporting children with Autism? Axcis Education is expanding our team of ASD specialist Teaching Assistants to support students in a specialist setting in Salford and Greater Manchester.
Working in line with the SEND Code of Practice (2015), you will:
* Use evidence-based resources such as Boxall profile or Zones of regulation
* Help implement and review behaviour support plans
* Use accredited de-escalation strategies
* Be aware of strategies such as emotion coaching and social stories
* Support emotional regulation and develop pupils’ social skills
* Work closely with class teachers, resource manager and external professionals
* Create a safe and supportive environment where pupils can thrive
* Help track progress and contribute to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
* Have experience of working with non-verbal students
* Have experience of working with challenging behaviour
You’ll work in an inclusive and specialist setting that supports students aged 11-19, with an EHCP and a diagnosis of Autism (ASD)

We want to hear from you if you:
* Have at least two years’ experience working with children with ASD needs or behaviour that challenges
* Have knowledge of trauma-informed approaches (ACE’S) and emotional regulation strategies
* Have a calm, consistent and compassionate approach
* Can form strong relationships and build trust
* Have a background in education, mental health, youth work, or social care, residential care
Candidates must have a CHILD & ADULT DBS or be willing to pay for one. For this role we cannot accept a CHILD ONLY DBS.
