The business delivers projects to high standards of quality, compliance, and client satisfaction, with a strong focus on health, safety, sustainability, and commercial excellence.Role OverviewThe Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing tendering, commercial control, and financial performance across construction projects. This role involves providing commercial expertise, ensuring compliance with HSQE procedures, supporting project delivery, and maintaining strong communication with clients and internal stakeholders.
The position also supports the Commercial Manager and contributes to overall business strategy and performance.Key ResponsibilitiesResponsible for tender preparation, submission and project completion in compliance with all HSQE proceduresProvide commercial expertise to contracts, including the production and submission of valuations, claims, and budget monitoringSupport the authorisation and submission of project variationsTrack changes to the work and design, adjusting budget projections accordinglyPrepare financial and progress data for meetings and payments as requiredAuthorise the placement of contracts, subcontracts, material and plant ordersValue work executed by subcontractors and certify interim and final paymentsMaximise cash flow through the control, measurement and valuation of work, including invoicing customers and payment of suppliersEnsure final accounts are prepared in a timely and accurate mannerAssist with the monthly CVR processEnsure compliance with all company and HSQE proceduresMaintain auditable recordsLiaise with clients and construction professionals including Project Managers and Site ManagersReport findings and highlight any issues to senior management on a weekly basisSupport the Commercial Manager with departmental requirements and KPIsEnsure projects proceed to client specification and satisfactionTravel and visit sites nationwide when requiredUndertake all other duties and tasks required to support business needs and strategyDeputise for the Commercial Manager when requiredRequirementsQuantity Surveying Degree (UK)High level of Microsoft package knowledge13 years previous experience essentialDemonstrates clear and professional communication, both written and verbalShows initiative, reliability and strong personal accountabilityEffectively manages workload and meets agreed deadlinesFollows up on actions and commitments in a timely mannerMaintains professional and respectful working relationships with internal and external stakeholdersShows flexibility and a positive attitude, contributing to the wider team when neededWhat's on OfferOpportunity to work within a growing and established construction businessExposure to a variety of projects across the UKCareer progression and development within a commercial teamInvolvement in key commercial and strategic business activitiesTPBN1_UKTJ
