Excellent opportunity for a commercially minded Shipping Lawyer looking to move closer to complex international energy and infrastructure projects.
An international energy and offshore infrastructure organisation is seeking to appoint a Shipping / Offshore Marine Legal Counsel to join its European legal team.
Working closely with commercial, operational and risk stakeholders, the role will support marine activities across a broad international portfolio, advising on vessel-related contractual, regulatory and claims matters across multiple jurisdictions.
This is a genuinely commercial position offering meaningful exposure to operational decision-making and high-value project work.
Key Responsibilities
* Advising on vessel charterparties and marine services agreements, including industry-standard offshore charter forms;
* Supporting operational issues relating to vessel performance, off-hire, delay, deviation and allocation of operational risk;
* Advising on maritime regulatory and liability matters including casualties, pollution exposure, limitation regimes and coastal state compliance;
* Managing claims and disputes involving charter performance, operational incidents and insurer interface;
* Partnering with commercial stakeholders to manage contractual risk across international marine operations.
About You
* Qualified lawyer (5+ PQE) with strong shipping, maritime or offshore marine experience.
* Background in private practice or in-house environments supporting energy, offshore or marine operations, or experience gained within a P&I Club.
* Comfortable advising across multiple jurisdictions and engaging directly with operational teams.
* Commercially pragmatic with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
Location flexible across Europe, with relocation support available for UK-based candidates open to moving.
