We are currently looking for an experienced Cook to join our dedicated and friendly catering team here at Laxfield House Nursing Home, Brent Eleigh, Nr Sudbury, Suffolk.
Laxfield House is an independent, family owned and privately run Care Home offering Nursing, Residential and Respite Care to the Elderly and is located in the village of Brent Eleigh.
What you can expect:
* Starting salary from £12.40 p/h according to experience.
* 16+ hours per week.
* Various shift options are available to include some week end work.
Main Duties:
To operate under the direction of the Kitchen Supervisor to -
* Maintain our excellent standards of hygiene
* Ensure safe food preparation and delivery
* Work as a team to agreed schedules for meal preparation
* Respect the choice and preferences of the residents in our care
* Maintain a safe working kitchen environment
Have a good knowledge and understanding of -
1) Basic Food Hygiene
2) Health & Safety
3) Good knowledge in the guidelines relating to cross infection
What you will need:
Applicants must have past experience of preparing and cooking food and be able to demonstrate sound knowledge of health and safety issues as well as food hygiene in a residential or similar care setting.
Applicants must be confident, a good communicator, well organised and be able to work independently and be able to demonstrate pride and attention whilst undertaking their kitchen duties. We welcome flair and new ideas.
All applicants will need to be independant car driver due to our village location.
