37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year About this Role Core Purpose: Under the instruction/guidance of the Facilities Manager provide maintenance and security services on the Academy sites and premises. You will be responsible for the provision of a wide range of services, providing a safe, clean, warm and secure environment for all authorised users of the Academy and visitors on a late shift pattern. Duties will include, but are not limited to: Lock/unlock Academy buildings and areas. Undertake regular security checks and identify security risks. Monitor fire safety equipment and carry out fire alarm testing Operate and respond to alarm systems where appropriate Undertake appropriate repairs e.g. redecorating and fixing Undertake minor/simple repairs e.g. minor plumbing, changing light bulbs, unblocking drains To organise and carry out various maintenance duties to ensure that the general upkeep and maintenance of the premises is satisfactory To organise and carry out minor improvement work e.g. erecting shelves, notice boards, bookshelves etc The successful candidate will: Be a dedicated professional with the ability to inspire our students Be willing to work across any of the sites that make up The Romero Catholic Academy (this may be on a temporary or permanent basis) Set high standards for themselves and others Be committed to promoting the Catholic ethos of our school; Be a team player with good interpersonal skills and able to multi-task in a busy environment; Be energetic, enthusiastic and caring; Be able to show excellent organisational and communication skills with both students and colleagues Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
