Community Children's Nurse - Rotational Post Children and Young People's Community Nursing Service

Recent investment in the Children and Young People's Community Nursing Service has created opportunities for Children's Nurses or Learning Disability Nurses. We are looking for an experienced nurse who has a passion for working with children with complex health needs. The role involves supporting staff to access care within the spectrum of community environments in school, home, and respite environments.
The role offers a valuable opportunity to be part of an experienced team, develop your professional expertise, and make a meaningful difference.
You will join a team passionate about delivering excellent clinical nursing care to patients in their homes, special schools, and residential respite settings. This is an innovative service where you can showcase your nursing skills and make a positive impact.
We seek compassionate and committed colleagues with experience in nursing children and young people with various medical conditions, including complex and palliative physical health needs. An extensive portfolio of clinical nursing skills supporting our patients' needs is essential. If you share our passion for excellence, we would love to hear from you.
Main duties of the job
The service is extensive and varied, offering opportunities to work with children who are technology-dependent, in palliative care, respite care for medically complex children, and children in continuing care, special school nursing, among others.
As a CCN, you will be primarily based within a specific team but will support across teams in the wider service. You are expected to work independently to assess patients, plan, and implement appropriate models of care under the guidance of band 6 nurses.
You will provide clinical care to children and young people with complex physical health needs in various community settings, including patients' homes, respite units, special schools, hospitals, and hospices. Training and support to unqualified staff using a Competency Framework will also be part of your role.
Teamwork and multi-agency collaboration are essential, as you will work with education and social care to provide holistic care. Good communication skills, the ability to work autonomously, a sense of fun, and creativity are valued traits. We offer an inspiring environment focused on supporting CYP to reach their full potential.
