Fostering and Kinship Social Worker - Permanent and Fixed Term
We are recruiting for both permanent and fixed-term roles within our Independent Fostering Agency.
This is a rare opportunity to join our stable fostering and kinship team in a permanent position, or a 12-month fixed-term role to cover maternity leave.
The fostering service supports foster carers and promotes permanency for children in care. We supervise mainstream and connected carers and assess special guardianship. We prioritize the voice of the child and offer training and support to maintain stability. Our team works collaboratively, utilizing peer supervision and team catch-ups, fostering a community environment. We work closely with the children's team and professional network.

About the role
As a Social Worker, you will provide a full range of fostering services, including recruitment, assessment, training, supervision/support, duty services, and assessments such as Form C and special guardianship. You will work to safely place children and achieve permanency plans. The service is expanding, and there may be future opportunities for permanence.
We work within the signs of safety framework, emphasizing success and peer supervision. There are opportunities to contribute to foster carer training and support groups.

About you
You should be passionate about making a difference, flexible, with excellent communication skills, and able to work collaboratively. Key requirements include:
* Experience building partnerships and working with professionals and foster carers
* Knowledge of statutory legislation and policy drivers affecting children’s services
* Strong analytical and planning skills, experience with assessments (preferably Form F)
* Understanding of fostering challenges and assessment complexities
* Experience presenting to fostering panels and completing reviews
Additional requirements:
* Valid driving license and access to transport
* Professional social work qualification recognized by Social Work England
* Active Social Work England registration
