Job Title: Chef Location: Reading Contract: Permanent – Full Time 30 hours per week Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 8:00am to 2:00pm Rate of Pay: £15.00 per hour About the role Are you an experienced Chef looking for a rewarding role in a professional corporate catering environment? Sodexo is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic and customer-focused Chef to join our team at Johnson Matthey in Reading. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a busy, client-facing environment, delivering high-quality food and exceptional service to staff and guests while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, hygiene and customer satisfaction. You will play a key role in supporting daily catering operations, contributing to hospitality services and ensuring an outstanding dining experience for all customers. Key Responsibilities Prepare and present high-quality meals, ensuring excellent food quality and customer satisfaction. Deliver catering and hospitality services in line with client and company standards. Maintain the highest standards of food safety, allergen management, hygiene and health & safety compliance. Support kitchen operations, including stock control, ordering systems and monthly stocktakes. Complete all required due diligence records, including temperature checks, production sheets and allergen documentation. Work collaboratively with the wider catering team, supporting training, special events and the smooth running of daily operations. What We’re Looking For Previous experience as a Chef within a busy, customer-focused catering environment. NVQ Level 2, 706/2 Chef qualification (or equivalent). Strong knowledge of food safety, allergen management and health & safety requirements. Excellent organisational, time management and communication skills, with the ability to perform well under pressure. A proactive, flexible approach with a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service and high standards of food quality. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with confidence using catering management and computer-based systems.
