Position: Despatch Operative (Night Shift)
Ref: DO0625 | Type: Permanent
Salary: £12.50 - £13.50 per hour
Closing Date: Friday 11 Jul 2025, 17:00
Job Summary
To contribute to the despatch of products, ensuring hygiene and quality standards are maintained, and manage packaging in line with Goods In, Traceability & Stock Rotation Procedures, ensuring compliance with BRC Standards.
Day-to-Day Activities
1. Ensure that every order has the correct products and quantities; inform the Despatch Team Leader of shortages; ensure documentation matches orders.
2. Process all products using management systems such as Nav & Stevens to control traceability.
3. Implement the 'clean as you go' policy at all times.
4. Perform final checks to ensure all orders are in place and the Despatch area is secure before leaving.
5. Monitor packaging and labelling for compliance with legislation.
6. Adopt safe working practices in accordance with Safety, Health, and Environmental policies.
7. Maintain hygiene standards in working areas.
8. Complete all documentation accurately and promptly for traceability.
9. Communicate issues or changes to relevant parties.
10. Transport products between sites.
11. Load and unload lorries.
Essential Criteria
* Driving License
* Computer Literacy
* Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
* Problem-solving ability
* Teamwork
* Numeracy skills
* GCSE Maths or equivalent, Grade C or above
* High proficiency in written and spoken English
* Flexibility
Desirable Criteria
* Fork Lift License
* Night Shift (10pm until finish, usually no later than 7:00am)
Additional Information
Full-time position, salary starting from £12.50/hour plus £1/hour night shift premium. The closing date is 11th July 2025 at 5 pm. Genesis is an Equal Opportunities Employer.
