JOB TITLE: Studio Audio Engineer ​ ABOUT THE ROLE ​ A BRIEF SUMMARY Part of the Gravity Media technology team at the new cutting-edge broadcast facility in the new home of ITV Daytime in the heart of Central London. Responsible for the infrastructure and operations of Audio and Studio facilities. You must great sense of accountability and be able to work well within a team. You will be able to communicate clearly, both written and verbal to technical colleagues and to non-technical partners. ​ WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR · Lead role as the onsite Audio SME, providing technical operational support in the planning and delivery of the audio production across the facility. · Provide hands-on studio engineering and support for live and recorded productions, ensuring smooth setup, operation, and de-rig of studios. · Support studio floor and gallery teams with technical requirements, including microphones, comms, talkback, monitoring, and signal paths. · Provide input with regards to both audio engineering and studio technical development within the expanding facility. · Understanding fully all client requirements (audio and studio), interpreting those requirements and working alongside the technical teams to ensure a smooth delivery. · Communicating all requirements to internal teams and following up to ensure that priorities are clear and project milestones for delivery are being met. · Creation and delivery of all technical schematic explainers and associated documentation. · Management of equipment failure to ensure minimal disruption to transmissions and studio operations. · Undertake general routine maintenance and planned work across both audio and studio systems. All employees are expected to contribute and participate in work activities in line with our management system to ensure the continual improvement of our business. ​ THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU IF To enable you to perform this role, you should be able to demonstrate the following as a minimum: · A real understanding and extensive knowledge of the audio production process, particularly in a dynamic facility. · Demonstrable experience supporting broadcast studio environments (floor, gallery, and studio systems). · Show a comprehensive awareness of existing and developing technologies and how they can be applied to the business. · Experience of TCP/IP networking infrastructure and multi-VLAN networks. · Knowledge and experience of Calrec and Riedel systems and integration. · Knowledge and experience of IP-based audio routing and SMPTE-2110 standards. · Familiarity with broadcast studio signal flows, comms systems, and video/audio synchronisation. · Be pro-active and able to identify potential issues before they occur. · Work at high levels of technical complexity, under programme and/or operational pressures. · Accept and work to internal business processes including rules and procedures that concern emailed communication, ticketing, auditing, documentation and change processes. · Ability to work both alone and as part of a team, and to remain calm under pressure. · Have a positive, enthusiastic manner with an ability to react tactfully and sympathetically to requests from all stakeholders. · Ability to prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines. ​
