Applications are invited for a locum Consultant Radiologist post, with an interest in MSK.
This post results from a combination of expansion of service and evolving developments in the related clinical disciplines including orthopaedics, rheumatology, and physiotherapy. The post will be a fixed-term 12-month contract, with the potential for a substantive post in the future.
Croydon Healthcare NHS Trust (CHS) is a busy DGH with a strong and developing musculoskeletal regional network. The current service links with all aspects of general musculoskeletal work, including spinal surgery, bone health, and local sarcoma services.
Main duties of the job
The locum MSK imaging post is full-time, comprising a strong musculoskeletal component as well as general radiology in the main department. There are currently three Consultant MSK Radiologists, two full-time and one part-time.
The post will include provision for diagnostic MSK and general cross-sectional reporting (including acute and cold reporting), ultrasound, and musculoskeletal intervention (including guided injections, arthrograms, hydrodilatations, and biopsies). Participation in MDTs including sarcoma, musculoskeletal, and trauma/orthopaedic meetings will be encouraged. All consultants have access to home working capability.

Job responsibilities
The post is available with an illustrative job plan of 10 programmed activities: 8.5 Direct Clinical care sessions and 1.5 SPA. There is a 1 in 14 on-call commitment, with overnight cover (8 pm to 8 am) provided by a tele-radiology service.
The job plan may be adapted by agreement, with the possibility of part-time working.
