What You’ll Be Doing Lead the Personal Injury team, managing a team of 12, including 6-7 direct reports, ensuring high standards of service and case management. Drive business development and marketing efforts to grow Red Kite’s PI practice, across all locations. Assist in the recruitme nt, mentoring, and development of the PI team to ensure that the department is well-staffed, well-trained, and aligned with the firm’s strategic goals. Actively manage a caseload of serious injury cases, with particular focus on complex matters like brain injury claims. Manage financial performance for the PI team, ensuring profitability and sustainable growth. Contribute to the firm’s strategic direction by reporting directly to Sophie Jones, Head of Injury Services, and working closely with her to ensure cross-team collaboration and development. Promote a collaborative and supportive team culture, sharing knowledge and best practices across the Injury Services division. Requirements Who We’re Looking For : We are seeking an experienced Head of Personal Injury (PI) to lead our dedicated team. J oin our exciting full service law firm that is committed to growing and developing PI team, as part of our wider Injury Services. This is a senior position with a wide range of responsibilities, from managing a substantial PI caseload to leading and growing a team of fee earners. As the Head of PI, you will work closely with the Head of Injury Services, to continue the firm’s growth and maintain its reputation for providing exceptional legal services across serious injury claims, including brain injury and other complex PI cases. What you'll bring: The ideal candidate will have significant experience in managing Personal Injury claims, particularly in serious injury cases, and be ready to step into a leadership role that combines technical legal expertise with management and business development responsibilities. You will bring: Proven experience at the Head of Department level (or in a similar senior role), with the ability to oversee and support multiple areas within the PI team. Extensive expertise in Personal Injury law, with a proven track record of handling high-value and complex cases, especially in serious injury claims (brain injury experience preferred). Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to manage a team of 6-7 direct reports and foster a supportive, collaborative team culture. Business development (BD) experience and a strong commercial mindset, able to build and maintain client relationships and drive growth for the firm.
