Morson Talent are delighted to present an opportunity for a motivated and experienced Construction Asset Engineer to join our client's established team for work associated with a nationally significant Nuclear New Build construction Project in Somerset. This interesting role will be based at Site and is offered on a 12-month (renewable) contract basis - inside IR35. Competitive daily rate on offer to the right candidate.
Job Purpose / Overview
* The Asset Engineer is responsible for supporting the Maintenance Leads with the delivery of the Comm-Ops Maintenance programme (Commissioning/Operations), ensuring that the Plant is fit for its operational life and using technical expertise to support the wider organisation.
* You will perform governance and oversight of contractors, ensuring that assets meet their operational safety and performance requirements.
Typical daily activities (not limited to)
* Providing engineering oversight and technical support to assets pre/post-handover from commissioning.
* Managing and overseeing pre-operational maintenance routines, providing technical advice to maintenance technician team undertaking the work.
* Chairing meetings, reviewing documentation and assessing contractor compliance to care and maintenance arrangements.
* Where plant issues are identified, providing technical expertise and knowledge to troubleshoot activities and ensuring robust corrective actions are in place to resolve issues and prevent reoccurrence.
* Providing input into the development of standards, procedures and arrangements which support safe and reliable plant operations.
Criteria
* HNC/Degree qualified (or equivalent) in an appropriate Engineering discipline
And/Or
* Time served apprenticeship or previous technician experience desirable
* Knowledge of maintenance practices applied in large engineering organisations across the mechanical or electrical engineering disciplines.
* Previous experience using an Asset Management tool.
* Proven experience in developing and reviewing technical documentation.
* Proactive and analytical mindset, capable of working independently and taking initiative.
* Solid understanding of quality standards and requirements within the UK nuclear regulatory framework or similarly regulated environments.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Organisational and IT skills.
