Job Title: Laboratory Operational Co-Ordinator
An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a world-leading global organisation. Our client, a prominent FMCG company behind brands such as Persil, Surf, Comfort, Domestos, and Cif, is seeking a Laboratory Operational Co-Ordinator at their Research & Development Facility in Port Sunlight, Wirral.
Role Details:
* Full-time, temporary role until September 2025
* 37.5 hours per week
* Salary up to £29,719 per annum, pro-rata, depending on experience

Background
As part of an initiative to improve efficiencies at the Port Sunlight R&D labs, a new Operational Excellence Team has been established. This team supports scientists and pilot plant staff by ensuring a safe, efficient, and well-maintained facility, focusing on implementing optimized processes for continual improvement.
Job Purpose
The Laboratory Operational Coordinator provides support services to the scientific and engineering teams. The ideal candidate will have a keen understanding of laboratory operational needs to maximize productivity, with skills in formulation, characterization, and performance testing, and the ability to follow protocols for efficient lab operations.
Objectives of this Role
1. Coordinate purchased item requirements across the site, managing stock items via third-party service contracts.
2. Maintain stock levels of raw materials, consumables, and PPE.
3. Serve as the first point of contact for purchase orders and raw material requests.
4. Support lab and pilot plant users with operational setups and immediate needs.
5. Provide materials picklists and related ancillaries at the point of use.
6. Coordinate with third-party providers for goods inwards and logging on LIMs.
7. Maintain documentation such as SDS, COAs, and equipment passports.
Qualifications
* Experience as a Laboratory or scientific facilities coordinator and/or pilot plant experience.
* Knowledge of management software, including LIMS, is advantageous.
* Excellent organizational, time management, and project tracking skills.
* Strong communication abilities.
* Proficiency in IT tools such as Microsoft Excel, Word; Power BI & Power Apps are a plus.
