Manufacturing Planner
Location: Templecombe
Hours: 4‑day week (Monday–Thursday)

Our Opportunity
Under Water Systems (UWS) is dedicated to being the world’s leading provider of underwater sensors and decision‑superiority solutions, helping navies protect our people, our waters and our way of life. Operating across Mine Countermeasures, Anti‑Submarine Warfare, Services and Future Capabilities, we are expanding our capabilities and looking to welcome a Manufacturing Planner to our team. In this role, you’ll work closely with the Master Planner to support seamless production preparation and delivery, contributing directly to the success of our cutting‑edge underwater systems.
In this role, you will:
4. Contribute to production planning activities, including defining lead times, cost elements, and procurement/production parameters
5. Maintain and manage all parts supply through internal systems
6. Ensure materials are available on the shop floor to support ongoing production
7. Support forecasting and scheduling activities
8. Play a key role in enabling efficient, on‑time manufacturing across the business
About You
You’ll bring a few years of experience —ideally within a manufacturing environment— or eager to learn and kick start a career within Planning. You’re someone who can work independently, stay organised, and take initiative, with the ability to prioritise effectively.
We’re looking for:

Due to the nature of the work that we do at Thales, many of our roles are subject to security restrictions. This role requires you to be a UK National and achieve Security Clearance (SC) without any caveats. It would be advantageous if currently held, however, if not currently held, it is a requirement that the successful applicant undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance prior to commencing employment. If approved by the MOD, a dual national from a non-ITAR country may be considered.
To be eligible for full SC, you generally need to have resided in the UK for the last 5 years. In some circumstances, a minimum of 3 years’ residence in the UK over the last 5 years may be accepted, with additional overseas checks.
