Job Type: Part-time, Contract Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 pro rata depending upon experience, based on a 35 hour full time working week Expected hours: 15 – 18 hours per week Experience: 3-6 years PQE The Opportunity We are looking to recruit a Legal Counsel on an interim part-time basis for 15-18 hours per week to cover maternity leave. What You'll be doing Supporting the business on the client contracting process, including RFPs and contract negotiation - leading negotiations and with support from commercial and finance teams; driving agreements through to signature Supporting with supplier contracts - including; for data management, cyber security, marketing and PR, systems and technology suppliers. Supporting the business on intellectual property matters including the consistent use of trade marks, copyright advice, management of trade mark applications and registrations (with external counsel) Providing legal advice on data protection and confidentiality queries Assisting on legal matters relating to our website and marketing communications including in relation to book launches Updating and maintaining our client and supplier contract templates Please note that this job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position. About You To be successful in this role you will be a Qualified Solicitor of England & Wales with 3-6 years post qualification experience - we may also consider candidates outside of this range who possess the relevant experience. You will have excellent contract drafting skills and a sound knowledge of intellectual property law (specialist IP experience is not essential, but a good working knowledge of IP law is useful), as well as good research skills and the ability to analyse and advise on diverse matters of which you may not have specialist prior experience. This role is also ideally suited to someone who enjoys supporting and working with individuals who have no legal background. You must also be available to join us by Monday 10th June 2024.
