The portfolio office performs both portfolio management and manages the integrated demand signal (IDS). The IDS delivers two functions:
An integrated demand function that will cohere and co-ordinate DNO demand into Delivery Partners through a single, balanced and agreed demand signal which is reflected in associated Delivery Partner plans (as set through the Integrated Business Planning process).
A strategic optioneering function which coheres and informs the DNO view of the portfolio and the overall portfolio balance in response to change (either internally or externally introduced) and challenge.
This role is pivotal to ensuring performance reporting is taking place within Warhead Group (WHG).
WHG is the customer organisation for the AWE, who is responsible for the majority of warhead design and manufacture. They will soon start to build a new generation of nuclear warheads as well as delivering ambitious and demanding infrastructure programmes in which they will manufacture the new warheads. WHG also has direct delivery responsibilities, and this role will work across the organisation to develop an improved view of performance across the overall portfolio.
Responsibilities:
* Support the DNO collation and assessment of Monthly reporting data with additional quarterly and annual reporting activities.
* Produce performance reports for team leader review.
* Strengthen the sharing and triangulation of insights between the different work-streams, functions, and stakeholders to enable reporting on the health of the Portfolio.
* Support the development of a portfolio management information strategy.
* Utilise tools such as Power BI to develop dashboards that visualise complex data to support governance meetings and decision making.
* Provide analysis and insight into WHG portfolio performance data, delivering a coherent reporting narrative that informs WHG portfolio governance decision making and supports WHG strategic objectives.
* Support the management and delivery of Warhead governance boards by assisting with the setting of board agendas, tracking progress of actions, and taking ownership and management of governance requirements.
* To develop and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Provide support to the Governance team in developing continued improvements in the Warhead governance framework more generally through the development of good governance initiatives, transparency and openness.
* From time to time, you may be required to support other initiatives within the Governance and Reporting teams, as well as the Portfolio Management Office.
* Participate in and/or manage corporate projects as and when required to support DNO business objectives.
* Support and maintain a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence, contributing to corporate priority themes and the organisations overall delivery aims, acting as a DNO ambassador.
* Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of technical competency areas and take a proactive approach to self-development and performance improvement; This is not meant to be an exhaustive list of duties. The need for flexibility, shared accountability and team working is required, and the role-holder is expected to carry out any other related duties that are within the employee's skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed.

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance.
