Overview

Landscape Officer

£37,236 - £40,674 per annum 37 hours per week. Fixed Term Contract 2 years. Cirencester/Agile.

Are you passionate about protecting and enhancing the landscape of the Cotswolds? An exciting opportunity to join Cotswold District Council as our Landscape Officer on a two-year fixed term contract. You will provide high quality, robust landscape and green infrastructure advice to support positive environmental outcomes that align with community, climate change and nature recovery priorities.

The Council is focused on a proactive approach to delivering the Corporate Plan priorities, including climate action, strong local communities, and a vibrant district economy. The Natural, Built and Historic Environment Service is fundamental to the Council’s sustainable future. We are looking for an enthusiastic Landscape Officer to join the team to provide advice on planning proposals, allocations and Local Plan policies, ensuring protection and enhancement of landscapes and creation/maintenance of accessible and multi-functional green infrastructure.

You will work with a variety of stakeholders and partnerships, including the Cotswold National Landscape Board, developers, planning agents and applicants, landscape consultants, local communities, and other customers, to create sustainable, positive outcomes through practical solutions.


Responsibilities

* Provide landscape and green infrastructure advice on planning proposals, allocations and Local Plan policies to protect and enhance landscapes and create/maintain accessible, multi-functional green infrastructure.
* Engage with stakeholders (e.g., Cotswold National Landscape Board, developers, planning agents, landscape consultants, local communities) to deliver sustainable outcomes across the District.
* Work with multi-disciplinary teams to develop practical, forward-thinking solutions that support environmental and climate priorities.


Qualifications

* Postgraduate qualification in your area of expertise and/or at least five years of relevant experience.
* High level of knowledge, understanding and experience of all aspects of landscape and green infrastructure.
* Ability to work positively with a range of stakeholders and customers.
* Experience of continuously improving services and developing products to meet customer needs.
* Good communication and negotiation skills.

* Full Driving Licence and access to a vehicle.
