We are looking for a Project Head of Health, Safety & Wellbeing to join our HSWQ&P team in London. The purpose of the role is to provide strategic HSW support to the SCS project team, lead and develop the Skanska UK HSW teams and contribute to the UK HSW strategy as part of the HSW Leadership Team.
What you'll do:
• Support the implementation of the Skanska UK HSW Business Plan and HS2 OU HSW strategy.
• Lead and develop the Skanska HS2 HSW team, act as a role model and provide technical advice and mentorship.
• Support the OU LT in developing and implementing HSW, while collaborating to ensure best practice is identified, shared and embedded across the OU and BU.
• Ensure all relevant industry and sector accreditations and certifications are maintained.
• Monitor and report on trends and attend and support relevant industry groups as required.
• Advise, guide and coach teams and the supply chain on HSW, and support the creation, review and implementation of improvement plans.
• Support in the accident / incident investigations procedure and timely communication of the findings.
• Undertake detailed assurance audits, support the closure of non‑conformances, and oversee HSW mobilisation and demobilisation across all relevant areas and activities.
What you'll bring to the role:
• Line manager experience, particularly leading leaders and managers.
• Level 5 academically recognised qualification or above (i.e. Diploma/Degree/NVQ) relating to Health, Safety & Wellbeing.
• Chartered membership of IOSH (CMIOSH) or working towards.
• An in depth understanding of the principles of Health, Safety & Wellbeing, including effective management techniques and the implementation of strategies.
