Our client, a well-established veterinary clinic in Ellesmere Port, is seeking an ambitious Veterinary Surgeon with a passion for delivering outstanding care to their patients. This role will offer a rich diversity of cases, enabling the successful candidate to expand their skillset in a supportive and inclusive environment.
About the Practice:
The clinic operates around the clock, providing a mix of both first opinion and referral work. With a dedicated team of over 20 professionals and state-of-the-art facilities, including digital X-ray, ultrasound, and an in-house laboratory, the clinic is renowned for its commitment to continuous professional development and strong community ties.
Role Key Responsibilities:
Provide high-quality veterinary care
Participate in a 4-day week and 2:9 weekend rota
Share of Bank holiday duties
To deliver high-quality emergency and critical care to a varied caseload, ensuring all animals receive the best possible treatment
Utilise advanced diagnostic and surgical techniques, including endoscopy, advanced ultrasound, orthopaedic surgery, and hip replacements.
Work collaboratively with a team of experienced veterinarians and support staff to enhance the well-being of pets and their owners.
Engage actively with pet owners to provide empathic and effective communication about their pets' health and treatment options.
Contribute to the practice's mission of making veterinary care accessible and affordable, particularly for those who earn a real living wage.
Skills and Qualifications:
Qualified Veterinary Surgeon who is registered with the RCVS
Strong skills and confidence in emergency and critical care (ECC)
Proven ability to handle a diverse and challenging caseload
Excellent communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to empathise with pet owners
Passionate about contributing to a community-focused, non-profit veterinary service
