In your role as a Kitchen Assistant at HC-One, you'll value one thing above all: Kindness. It carries across every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential, and Specialist care homes. Every person who works here understands that our Residents are people just like them with their own stories to tell. Joining HC-One offers a wonderful opportunity to give back to those individuals.
As a Kitchen Assistant, your responsibilities include helping to prepare and serve nutritious, healthy meals that our residents will love. You'll demonstrate high standards in cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene. Whether maintaining food supplies and fridge/freezer temperatures, training new starters on equipment, or cleaning spills, you'll always prioritize Resident wellbeing.
We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant with some kitchen experience. Ideally, you will have an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation, or be willing to study for one. Good record-keeping and organizational skills are essential, as is the ability to follow recipes. When communicating with Residents or colleagues, kindness and consideration are a must.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You should be able to recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect and know how to respond. All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training appropriate to their role and undertake additional training as needed. You should also be able to seek advice and report concerns, escalating issues if necessary.
We provide full training, making this a great opportunity to learn new skills. In return, you'll enjoy a range of benefits supporting your physical and psychological well-being, including:
* Hourly rate subject to experience and qualifications.
* Paid Enhanced DBS/PVG
* Free uniform
* A nutritious meal during shifts of eight hours or more
* Company pension scheme
* 28 days annual leave inclusive of bank holidays
* Group life assurance
* Wagestream - flexible access to your pay
* Learning and development opportunities, including qualifications
* GP online service for you and your children under 16
* Learning from experienced colleagues in a supportive team
* Colleague discounts at over 1600 high street stores
* Employee Assistance Programme providing 24/7 support
* Recognition schemes like 'Kindness in Care' and Long Service Awards
* Refer a Friend scheme up to £1000 per successful referral
We are committed to an inclusive workforce that reflects the communities we serve. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and aim for a quick onboarding process from offer to start date.
